We have developed science-based analytical tools that combined with local and traditional knowledge will broaden the capacities for more effective decision-making, community planning and management. These tools will allow a better understanding of the current and past trends. The use of this information is the key to current and future scenarios. Land managers will able to prepare for and respond to more intense storms as well as enhance sustainable development to protect resources for the economic and cultural identity of Barrow.

Local capacity has been enhanced by working in synergy with an advisory council of local land managers and through enhancing local expertise for monitoring and analyzing change.
